SCIP: THE OBLIGATIONS

Since 05th of January 2021 any company placing an article on the European market with a SVHC at more than 0.1% m/m is a duty holder and has to declare it on the new SCIP platform of the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA).

In the multitude of regulations to be followed, this last obligation goes almost unnoticed in industrial sectors where the heart of the activity is not to market an article but a content such as creams, lotions in cosmetics.

However, manufacturers, importers and even distributors of cosmetics are impacted. Indeed, packaging, containers (bottles, pumps) and cosmetic accessories are concerned by SCIP.

AGENDA

  • What is an article under REACH and how to define whether it has to be declared?
  • Who has to declare and when ?
  • What are your liabilities ?
  • How to make a SCIP declaration? Initial declaration, update declaration.
