PHTALATES: A CHALLENGE

On 27th February, the European Commission officially added 11 new substances to Annex XIV of REACH, thereby enacting a ban on their use in Europe from a given deadline.

This new list contains 3 substances of the phthalate family that will no longer be used in Europe by industry from 2023 onwards; unless an additional exemption for a specific use is requested by submitting an Authorisation dossier before 27th August 2023.

These substances are presumed to be used in several industrial sectors in Europe, in particular the plastics sector.

What procedure to follow so as to benefit from an additional period of time to use these substances?

AGENDA

This webinar will provide you with the important information you need in order to prepare you strategy:

  • Prohibited substances and their properties
  • Known uses in Europe and potential sectors impacted
  • Actions to be taken to continue the use of these substances after the date of their ban
