In the current context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the global demand for hydroalcoholic products and other disinfectants has risen sharply. This need for disinfectants (hand and surface) is likely to continue in the coming months and years. It is important to note that these disinfectants are biocidal products and are subject to the Biocidal Products Regulation in Europe (BPR).
Following the health crisis, ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) and WHO (World Health Organization) have issued several recommendations allowing Member States to implement derogations according to Article 55(1) of the BPR. This has helped to simplify regulatory procedures and thus accelerate the marketing of these products.
However, these derogations are temporary and will end on 31 December 2020 in France, with a transition period starting on 1 October 2020. It is therefore necessary to anticipate the regulatory procedures per country to ensure that your products remain on the market in the long term.
This webinar will present the regulatory steps to be taken in France to keep your products on the market at the end of the derogations. Then, we will focus on possible Authorisation strategies for ethanol-based disinfectants.
How to keep your product on the market in France after the post-exemption health crisis?
What are the strategies for EU Authorisation for ethanol-based disinfectants?
