FOOD SUPPLEMENTS
Since 2002, there is a specific Directive for food supplements (Directive 2002/46/EC) in Europe. These products have a specific status, distinct from other foodstuffs, yet, food supplements are also subject to the general obligations of food law. Moreover, the regulatory text applicable to food supplements being a Directive, Member States also have some specificities, more particularly with regards to authorized / restricted / forbidden plants.
