In the current context of the COVID-19 pandemic, the global demand for hydroalcoholic products and other disinfectants has risen sharply. This need for hand and surface disinfectants is likely to continue in the months and years to come. It should be noted that these disinfectants are biocidal products and are therefore subject to the Biocidal Products Regulation in Europe (BPR).

Following the health crisis, the ECHA (European Chemicals Agency) and the WHO (World Health Organization) have issued several recommendations allowing Member States to implement exemptions according to Article 55(1) of the BPR. This has simplified the regulatory procedures and thus speeded up the placing on the market of these products. 

However, these derogations are temporary and will end on 31 December 2020 in France, with a transition period starting on 1 October 2020. It is therefore necessary to anticipate the regulatory procedures in order to keep your products on the market. 

This webinar will present the regulatory steps to be taken in France, to keep your products on the market at the end of the derogations. It will then focus on possible Marketing Authorisation (MA) strategies for ethanol-based disinfectants.
